Print Making In The Backyard

We experimented with styrofoam prints again today.  This time we tried Speedball printing ink to see if it gave us a different result than the tempera paints we have used in the past.  It definitely has a different consistency to it and it sticks to the plates much better.  It was more difficult for the girls to roll out evenly and it dries so fast they couldn't always get a clear print.  Mine didn't print very crisply for the same reason but we were in full sun in the middle of the day.  The girls had fun adding some bubble wrap prints to theirs.  We will definitely continue to experiment with this process.  Excuse the cell phone pics- I'm still without a proper camera.

Also- we got to move back into our house today.  It's still a wreck but liveable for now.  We have a long way to go and we have workmen coming and going.  We will have to move back out for some of the work but it might be a couple weeks before that happens.

Our first day back in the house has included: several art projects, meeting with repair people, running through the sprinklers, reading books and a desperate attempt to try and catch up design work and house work.
