Waterfall Hike

We went on a very fun hike with some neighborhood friends. Hiking to this waterfall was a big pay off at the end. It was a little bit of a rough hike because Red Fish's feet are really giving her trouble. Unfortunately everything she did last year for her feet is not going to have a lasting effect. She is going to have to go through some difficult surgery this fall and making it through the summer has been painful. Luckily being in the mountains brings peace to all of our souls.

Today

City children's bike parade today with a couple of little cousins.
dress like a cow day at Chic-fil-a for free meals

salty watercolors and bubble wrap prints with the littles in art group.

Summer Days

The girls are loving their taekwondo. This might not just be a summer trial. They are going to class almost every single day.

As usual we have been spending a large portion of our time at the pool. Can't keep these kids out of the water.

Marshmellows, Hiking & Friends

Rodeo

Red Fish's horse riding teacher was in charge of our city's rodeo so Red Fish insisted that we attend. The rodeo is not my scene but the girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Learning To Paddle Board

JJ and I have been friends for over 20 years. She just moved back to our hometown and we get to do fun things together with our kids. She invited us paddle boarding today and I think it was one of the best days I have had in a long time. We had so. much. fun.

July 4th

Today we did the small town parade and fair. We painted faces and had
 our sun screen on.

Then we watched fireworks from the boat. A fun holiday.

Reptiles & Cousins

My brother J wanted to take all of the little cousins to a reptile zoo. My kids were very excited, especially Red Fish who adores reptiles, spiders and everything that freaks me out. Unfortunately J needed more car seats and I had to attend with my kids. Yuck. Good thing they are so much braver than I am. Red Fish wanted to hold every snake, lizard, crocodile and tarantula. New Fish tolerated being near the reptiles. I screamed when a snake looked in my direction. Gives me the shivers just thinking about it.

After we finished with the reptiles, Nixie and Doodle spent the rest of the day at our house. The kids had a big water balloon fight, played on the swingset, hula hooped and picnicked all afternoon. It is so fun to watch this little crew play together. They love each other so much and they have such a good time together.

E's Recital

My very talented Niece E gave a senior recital. We loved attending and supporting her. If my girls turn out like her I would be a happy Mom. We spent our morning at a local amusement park for Two Fish's office party so we had to do a quick change in order to make it to the recital. Busy, fun day.

Random Things

I love finding little doodles around the house. New Fish has become more interested in art than ever.
Anytime I catch these two quietly playing together in their own little world, it makes me happy.

Trampoline time with Nixie. These two crack me up. They are pretty much the exact same size.

We went on an outing to a local farm with friends. The giant lop bunny was stolen from the farm later that day and it totally scandalized my kids. The bunny was very pregnant and was returned the next day but my kids have many conspiracy theories on where the bunny was.

Red Fish went to the baptism of one of her Best friends H.
Messy bird feeder project in the front yard

These jammies are affectionately known as "the sparkle pups". New Fish has been wearing them since she was two and a half. They are a size three and I'm pretty sure she intends to stretch them and make them fit for the next decade. She will not hear anything about them being too small.

Rollerskates & Cartwheels

Red Fish has a little hole in one of her retinas. We have no idea how long it has been there. She has no symptoms but we need to protect her eyes to prevent further injury. Unfortunately we have not found a lot of protective eyewear for kids. So we are going with shooting glasses for soccer season. I will have to use defog on them. Scuba diver mom hack.

The kiddos got roller skates at a going out of business sale. They are just a little bit excited.
All day. Every day. Every place we go.

The Latest With Bubs

I turned around to look at New Fish during Red Fish's piano lessons and found her mediating. The red lipsticks really makes the image. She makes me laugh.
Cute kiddo pulled her second tooth out herself. She wanted to make her own little tooth pocket pillow to leave things for the tooth fairy so she sewed it by hand.

New Fish and I went on a mommy/daughter date to the climbing gym. She mostly did some bouldering and climbed all over like a little spider.

She got to ski with a friend this month and she was so excited that we could barely contain her. I lost her in the trees and was completely freaking out. She is becoming such a great little skier. I have to keep a very close eye on her.

She constantly has a giant stack of library books in front of her. She read this stack in one afternoon.

She has been trying to increase her flexibility as has been trying hard to get her splits. She is very very close. I have never been able to do the splits. She must have gotten her flexibility from Two Fish
