Our friends invited us on some animal adventures this week for Spring break. We went to a local farm yesterday to visit the animals, pet them and have a picnic. My girls LOVE animals. Their lack of fear is almost worrisome. Today we went to the zoo and the rest of the state must have had the same idea. The zoo is much farther away than the two farms or the aquarium so we don't make it there very often. It was completely packed but my friend travels with four teenagers who don't mind looking out for the little kids (two of hers, two of mine) so I actually had a fabulous time. Normally I would be stressed with my two little wanderers in that huge crowd. The extra sets of hands were much appreciated.
Red Fish's current favorite animal (non-mythical animal) is a giraffe. My friend Holly (who will hereafter be known as Holly the awesome) happens to be a giraffe trainer and Red Fish really wanted to meet her and ask her some questions like what noise a giraffe makes etc. Holly actually let us "meet" one of the giraffes and feed him a head of lettuce. It was amazing. The girls were so thrilled. They were jumping up and down and their little friends loved feeding the giraffe as well. Red Fish had the opportunity to ask all of her burning questions and she has decided that she wants to be a giraffe trainer when she grows up.
We had ice cream and rode the carousel and it was a definite day of spoiling. Red Fish rode a giraffe on the carousel.

The prettiest carousel animals I've seen. Red Fish looks like she is saying HA! I got the giraffe.
