Today in art group we made monoprints. We've been talking about print making and last week our project could have made a series of prints. Two of the girls did a series. Today we looked at an original piece I have in my family room by Karen Kyler and talked a little about how some prints cannot be duplicated exactly because they are so layered and free-form. We used tempera with textured shelf paper, bubble wrap, feathers, string, plastic forks, sponges, hands etc. in order to create a layered print. It was a really fun project for all of the kids. Good for a variety of age groups. Bubble wrap is especially fun. ![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjld1B1scGK1FFR9JjkIeLq2Id7bJvkvPFuCSKlyR2p51rFcPHOBRqAGG9pwKRISM2Lgnqqqushb1Lw7sU0jemA9H_HjQD-zDmdBEOn39kdoG5abBVSc_wGAeV8owZUfXCuqPaeez7F4E8/s640/IMG_20110629_105859.jpg)
