Sweet Sisters

This morning I peeked in on the girls while they were getting ready for school and found them fixing each other's hair. It was the sweetest little scene. New Fish was especially excited to fix Red Fish's hair for her. Red Fish has fixed New Fish's hair before but this the first time I've seen them both trade. It made me so happy that they are sisters.

Working Mom

It has been a hectic month and I have some big projects I've been working on. Apparently this is what I look like right now. Just keeping it real.

Random Things

I love finding little doodles around the house. New Fish has become more interested in art than ever.
Anytime I catch these two quietly playing together in their own little world, it makes me happy.

Trampoline time with Nixie. These two crack me up. They are pretty much the exact same size.

We went on an outing to a local farm with friends. The giant lop bunny was stolen from the farm later that day and it totally scandalized my kids. The bunny was very pregnant and was returned the next day but my kids have many conspiracy theories on where the bunny was.

Red Fish went to the baptism of one of her Best friends H.
Messy bird feeder project in the front yard

These jammies are affectionately known as "the sparkle pups". New Fish has been wearing them since she was two and a half. They are a size three and I'm pretty sure she intends to stretch them and make them fit for the next decade. She will not hear anything about them being too small.

Giant Bryce Canyon Spring Break Post

We spent our Spring Break in Bryce Canyon National Park. Plenty of hiking and drawing and fresh air. It was chilly but not cold and completely gorgeous. We did Sunset to Sunrise, Queen's garden, Navajo Loop, and Bristlecone Pine loop today. The girl worked on their junior ranger badges including writing a haiku about their love of Bryce Canyon. Natural bridge was a highlight.

A Beautiful Day

Rollerskates & Cartwheels

Red Fish has a little hole in one of her retinas. We have no idea how long it has been there. She has no symptoms but we need to protect her eyes to prevent further injury. Unfortunately we have not found a lot of protective eyewear for kids. So we are going with shooting glasses for soccer season. I will have to use defog on them. Scuba diver mom hack.

The kiddos got roller skates at a going out of business sale. They are just a little bit excited.
All day. Every day. Every place we go.

Star Student

Red Fish was a star student in school today. She is such a good student. It isn't just that she does well academically, she has a wonderful attitude and enjoys school.

Red Fish has been saving up her allowance money for months and months to buy a skateboard. It freaks me out and I make her wear all the pads but she is pretty excited about it. I love that she is not intimidated by many things.

Easter

We dyed eggs with cousin M and Grandma. Tye dye, sparkly and all kinds of tricks. Even though my kids aren't crazy about boiled eggs, they still want to dye them. Who doesn't love this.
We had a glow in the dark Easter egg hunt this year outside the night before Easter Sunday. I put glow sticks in the eggs. It made it different for the girls.

On Easter Sunday the girls wore their new dresses like always. Sparkly ones this year.

Every year Mimi gives the kids a stuffed bunny. This year she gave them ones with the year and their name on it.

The kids put on a little program before dinner. I didn't know we were having anyone over for dinner except my parents and my mother in law. By the end of dinner we had my entire family.
