Musings of a mother/scuba instructor/graphic designer/musical entrepreneur. Totally in love with my husband (Two Fish) of ten years. We have two beautiful daughters (Red Fish and New Fish) and a nutty dog (Blue Fish) who help make our family complete and completely happy. W have learned to expect the unexpected and are always up for an adventure.
I am enthusiastic about living and learning. I love people who make me laugh. I have an ironic appreciation for the unique and absurd. I am an enthusiastic and untalented tap dancer with a love for new Christmas ornaments, art, the outdoors, the water, music, good books, skiing, and travel. My greatest calling in life is to be a Mom. I LOVE it!
I spent a whole day searching for a store that had the Pie Face game in stock for my mom for Mother's Day because I knew she would love the game. I had no luck. Then I showed up for the family weekend at the Lake House only to discover that she had bought it for herself. This game is hilarious.
My brother J wanted to take all of the little cousins to a reptile zoo. My kids were very excited, especially Red Fish who adores reptiles, spiders and everything that freaks me out. Unfortunately J needed more car seats and I had to attend with my kids. Yuck. Good thing they are so much braver than I am. Red Fish wanted to hold every snake, lizard, crocodile and tarantula. New Fish tolerated being near the reptiles. I screamed when a snake looked in my direction. Gives me the shivers just thinking about it.
After we finished with the reptiles, Nixie and Doodle spent the rest of the day at our house. The kids had a big water balloon fight, played on the swingset, hula hooped and picnicked all afternoon. It is so fun to watch this little crew play together. They love each other so much and they have such a good time together.
My very talented Niece E gave a senior recital. We loved attending and supporting her. If my girls turn out like her I would be a happy Mom. We spent our morning at a local amusement park for Two Fish's office party so we had to do a quick change in order to make it to the recital. Busy, fun day.
Red Fish has been counting down the days until her recital is over. She has decided that dance is really not her interest. She enjoyed most of her hip hop class but she was definitely ready for it to be over. This was not a surprise to her mother.
New Fish continues to adore her dance lessons. She did ballet and jazz and joined Red Fish's hip hop class. She is signed up for dance for next year already.
Red Fish got her ears pierced with my grandparents when she was five but one of them got infected and she let them grow in. Today we were at the mall walking past Claire's and Two Fish jokingly said: "Alright everyone inside let's get your ears pierced." I'm not sure what posessed him to think that was a funny joke. The girls were inside picking out earings and getting ready before he could take it back. He thought they would be scared. They weren't scared but they did make Two Fish hold them on his lap. Neither of them cried or yelled. They are pretty pleased with their new pierced ears.
The girls are currently very into Star Wars. This is kind of funny because Two Fish and I had never really been into Star Wars. I watched the movies once as a teenager and Scott watched two of them for the first time with the girls. But we decided to embrace their current fascination and celebrate Star Wars Day. We went all out with a special dinner and decorations. The girls loved it.

The end of the school year is coming up sooner than later and it is starting to hit me that the days with my half day kindergarten buddy are numbered. I am going to miss our adventures. She is an infusion of energy, sass and fun that I am going to miss during the day even if she does end up stuck at the top of a tree twice in three days.
