Musings of a mother/scuba instructor/graphic designer/musical entrepreneur. Totally in love with my husband (Two Fish) of ten years. We have two beautiful daughters (Red Fish and New Fish) and a nutty dog (Blue Fish) who help make our family complete and completely happy. W have learned to expect the unexpected and are always up for an adventure.
I am enthusiastic about living and learning. I love people who make me laugh. I have an ironic appreciation for the unique and absurd. I am an enthusiastic and untalented tap dancer with a love for new Christmas ornaments, art, the outdoors, the water, music, good books, skiing, and travel. My greatest calling in life is to be a Mom. I LOVE it!
My Mom's dog Mahler sometimes stays with us and he is a cuddler.
If you had told me ten years ago that my husband would be up late with his six year old blow drying her toes because she used a whole bottle of glitter nail polish on them I would not have believed you. He is such a good girl Dad. He loves these girls so much!
New Fish's "fashions". She got a book of fashion drawing for Christmas and she already has pages of fashion designs. She says she is going to be a fashion designer when she grows up if she doesn't become an optometrist or a rock star. Red Fish thinks she wants to be a teacher or a veterinarian.
Christmas eve was rather quiet. We went to see the new Star Wars movie with my parents and a couple of family friends. I had to cover the kids eyes for a few scary parts but they mostly enjoyed the movie. We just finished watching the first six.
We rode downtown on the train to see the lights. Red Fish was cranky which made for an interesting evening but overall we still managed to hang on to a bit of that Christmas magic. How can you not with this beautiful view?
Cute little New Fish at her school Christmas party. This kid loves kindergarten.
Red Fish's class had an indoor snowball fight during their class party.
Red Fish really wanted to babysit her cousins so when their parents brought them over for the evening Red Fish changed diapers, entertained, fed, red stories and put them to bed. She loved having some time with them to herself.
Cool kid at the dentist office. A couple of days ago New Fish mentioned her "shark teeth" when I asked what she meant she showed me the new row of adult teeth that were growing up right behind her baby teeth instead of pushing the baby teeth out. We had to take a quick trip to the dentist to get the baby teeth pulled. The tooth fairy made her first visit, or rather forgot to visit but luckily Mommy found where the dollar bill "must have accidentally fallen between the bed and the wall." New Fish was a little disturbed that the tooth fairy "stole one of her body parts" and left her a dollar. Apparently she was not clear on tooth fairies stealing teeth so the tooth fairy had to return the tooth with an apology the next night.
This is now my most prized Christmas decoration. The girls spent HOURS painstakingly creating this nativity for our front table out of sculpey complete with wise men with gifts, shepards farm animals, a camel and a monkey in a tree.
