Art Group Day 2- Air Dry Putty Sculptures

Day two of art group was a complete success.  There was no windy storm this week and the kids were engaged and excited.  I showed them pictures of different kinds of sculpture from different time periods, countries, art movements and artists and we talked about the definition of sculpture.  Then I created a little sculpture out of air dry putty to show them how easy it is to manipulate and turned them loose.  There were abstract objects, several animals and household items being shaped all over the place.  I love to watch the kids create.  Their little minds are so free and creative.  There is nothing better than arming them with art supplies.
